Airtel launches HSPA+ nationwide

Airtel Ugenda is a indian-backed cellco.it has recently announced the launch of a nationwide ‘3.75G’ HSPA+ network.

The new platform is capable of providing speculative maximum download speeds of 21Mbps. It is now available in more than 30 towns and cities. It will start operating in another nine in due course of time.

The network currently consisted of 325 base stations, though the operator plans for that number to exceed 400 shortly. In terms of devices, Airtel has a number of dongles, handsets and routers that are compatible with the new platform as well as a tablet computer. Airtel spokesperson while emphasizing the provider’s focus on delivering high speed services commented “Fast has become an attitude, especially in business. If you are not fast, you will not survive.”
