Afghanistan grows CDMA Users to 221,276 in March

Afghanistan’s GSM base grew to 18.11 million at end-March, from 17.56 million at the end of last year. According to a recent survey the country also counted 221,276 CDMA users, up from 134,092 three months earlier, according to statistics from the ICT ministry. The number of landlines totaled 83,904, up from 80,607 and penetration of communications services remains at 66 percent. The number of telecommunications base stations totaled 4,539 versus 4,428 in December 2011 while total investment stood at USD 1.81 billion.
