4G to be introduced this year in Kazakhstan

4G technology will be introduced in both Astana and Almaty later this year. Future developments in the field of information and communication technologies have been discussed at the “Connect Kazakhstan-2012” international exhibition and conference. It opened prior to the fifth Astana Economic Forum. The market of information and communication technologies is growing rapidly in Kazakhstan. By the end of the year, 60% of socially important public services will be provided in the electronic format. This task was set by the President in his state-of-the-nation address.

Askar Zhumagaliyev, KAZAKH MINISTER OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS:
The Ministry of Transport, the “Zerde” holding company and the private sector will promote mobile e-government solutions together along with mobile solutions of not only public services, but also among people as well as companies.

Kazakhstan is ranked 38th in the UN e-government ranking among 190 countries, and shares second place with Singapore in terms of e-participation, which measures the opportunities for online communication between citizens and the government .
